Each woman should own at least one amazing lipstick. Wearing lipstick is like an ornament for a lady i.e. a stunning pair of earrings or a beautiful clutch. And like earrings or a clutch, there is nothing like ‘perfect lipstick. This is something great! It means there are numerous perfect lipsticks for each woman.

The following options can be your guideline for the next time you are choosing your perfect lipstick shade and each one screaming “pick me, pick me!”

What is your preference for choosing lipstick color?

This is the essential question. When picking a lipstick, settling on the color family feels like the natural starting point. Try not to start from there. Instead, start by noticing whether you have a neutral or bold lip. Lipstick shades have two general categories: neutral or bold. Neutral lipsticks contrast with your makeup and bold lipsticks contrast with your face.

Remember that only one out of every odd shade within a color family is bold or neutral. A shade of red lipstick can be bold, while another red lipstick can be neutral. Similarly, a color that is neutral on fair skin women may be bold on a woman with a darker appearance. For this reason, bold or neutral ought to be your first inquiry.

To decide whether you want a bold or neutral lip, first consider if you want your makeup to stand out? If no, then go with a neutral lipstick. If yes, go with bold lipstick.

Things to keep in mind while choosing your perfect shade:

Many makeup artists depend too heavily on rules based on skin tone. For example, If you have skin tone X, they ask you to go with colors A and B and avoid colors C and D. Certainly skin tone can be an important factor while thinking about lipstick. It is recommended not to get yourself too much involved in this perspective. Rather, see it from the viewpoint that a few colors praise certain skin tones. If you eventually choose a lipstick that is excessively light or excessively dark for you, you can always darken or lighten up.

Reds:

Typically, considered the boldest decision. However, reds vary tremendously. They range from too dark to extremely sheer (meaning they simply add a transparent wash of color). Reds

can “praise” all skin tones.

Pinks

Exceptionally versatile and always extremely feminine. Pink lipsticks can be useful for any occasion.

Orange:

These colors look great on all skin tones. They especially praise women with warmer undertones, like those with a brilliant appearance and yellow to their skin. This color family is more favorable in warm weather, however can be worn all around the year.

Purples/Plums/Berries:

A great decision if you want to add more color to the face. These colors are best for all seasons.

Brown:

Great everyday colors that easily pair with your makeup. Lighter shades generally mix more with fair appearances and more deep browns suit darker complexions.

If you are searching for lipstick with staying power, go with a matte lipstick.

Matte:

Matte lipsticks are the longest-lasting lipsticks. They grasp the lips and even leave a slight staining impact that will not easily fall off.

If you are searching for comfortable lipstick, go with a sheer or creamy lipstick.

Sheer:

Smooth and shiny. They are exceptionally lightweight and usually feel like you are wearing a lip conditioner. You may even not realize you’re wearing anything at all.

Velvet:

They are smooth on the lips because they contain 98% moisture. Great for those with drier lips.
